Need recall to correct this problem as brakes may fail. Do you know the voltage reading that is supposed to be present at the solenoid when the brake pedal is pressed? The current and failure mileages were 51,200.
I decided to do some research and went on to several internet sites for Nissan Titan owners to see if others were experiencing similar problems or if there was a recall for this. This is especially common in Hondas. On the transmission, where the lever inserts, there is a seal - inside that seal, there is like a gear that the lever pushes in order to shift from gear to gear etc. Nissan knows about this and I am trying to work with them. The brake, vdc, tow, and abs switch stay on all the time. It cuts power to the drive wheels if one or both start to spin.
The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that there was an internal crack that caused the mixing. My fluid levels looked good and the fluid looked pristine despite the fact there's no records indicating the fluid was ever changed. Had to be towed to dealership. Nothing was done and we were forced to trade trailer for lower weight trailer. I have asked dealers many of times to fix this as it should have came with this option and was somehow missed. All trucks or cars of its kind have been equipped with a switch that this device can be turned on or off depending on the drivers situation. I need help in this situation. The current and failure mileages were 51,200. See attached image for location. Two shops could not diagnose the issue.
Dealer said nothing was wrong with vehicle but tow was too heavy. I pulled the tab and used a screwdriver to depress the park lock so I could get the car home. Does anyone have electrical diagrams or pictures or know what the issue might be? You may need to have that checked out to make sure it's not broken inside. If you don't then the shift lock solenoid may be stuck. I have asked dealers many of times to fix this as it should have came with this option and was somehow missed.
This bushing repair kit worked perfectly for my 2006 Nissan Xterra. The transmission just seemed to to slow down. At first, I thought I ran over something and it was stuck in the back wheels. If the sensor is in fact useless, it may be the reason the transmission is locked into Park. I looked at my right mirror and saw white gray smoke coming out of the back of my 2004 nissan titan truck. Just a thought and cheap to try. Dealership had replaced entire rear axle at 25,000 miles. Truck currently has 12,565 miles and truck again vibrates when brakes are applied, and brakes need to be pressed hard and go low to the floor.
