The check engine light was not on when this occurred. Bottom Line recommended Submitted 2014-09-15 By Paulie From Milwaukee, wi The way I use this product probably is different than the most common usage. This is a very dangerous and scary problem esp when merging from highway to highway. Easy installation, comfortable handling and quiet performance are just a few of the benefits you will find with the installation of Drivework's hub bearing assembly. I found this out the hard way in making a left turn after coming to a stop and then turned in front of traffic that was far enough away to make the turn. When I took it in they said I needed a new transmission; but I noted that there was not a rise in rpm's when it did not accelerate as would be the case if it was slipping.
After pushing on the gas for a couple of seconds, the engine doesn't respond, but then it surges forward at a high rate. I'm on a time sensitive situation at all times with my clients and the last thing I need is to be told the part s i was charged for upfront is not in stock like it said it was, so now not only am I wasting my time, fuel, money! At 55,271 miles had the same exact problem, Girard nissan, Groton Ct had to ship it out to be replaced. I immediately took the car to a Nissan dealer and they said it was the transmission. Now, I am having similar problems. Took to dealer a week or two after it originally happened. What do you do with a lemon? On July 3,2009 after I stopped on a red light the car stopped without warning, it wouldn't go into gear I tried to accelerate and it would not respond. I took it back to Nissan but they said the part was not under warranty.
This is a serious problem and needs to be addressed. I will never by another Nissan for these reasons. The acceleration becomes delayed and then the car surges forward after a 3 second delay. If the surfaces are not 110% clean, then oil will leak. At the time off this incident my entire family was in the car with me.
I was fortunate that the driver of the other car swerved in time to miss me, but it was a very close call. Will shop again and let friends and family know of the savings by purchasing online for in store pickup. He turned off and restarted the vehicle without difficulty. It was me, I found the 6 quarts over on the shelf for commercial accounts desk and of course I needed more than 6 quarts but when I went to order the product they said they only had 6 in stock so I just dealt with it but when I was there and I ended up finding the fluid myself I also seen that they had an additional 3 quarts including the 6 I ordered but like usual their inventory count is off as usual. The bad thing is that I really liked the car but the cost and reliability is terrible to say the least.
The day before we were scheduled to bring it in for repair, my wife was driving on the highway and the car would no longer accelerate. The problem continued and was told that it was a strut problem. I made a large investment in Nissan based on their reputation for reliability and have been greatly let down. The suddenly it surges and takes off. I used good oil fashion gasoline and a plastic blade scraper. No car should cost this much to repair. Luckily there were no injuries because of this problem but I find it unacceptable that Nissan knows about this problem but only requires an absurd amount of money to fix it.
No transmission shop that I have talked to touches these things. I call Nissan North America for help again and they refuse to help in any way even if you didn't know about the extension they just do not care!! I contacted the dealer who said they could do nothing since the service engine light was not on. I changed again and it is once again resolved. I took it to 2 other auto repair places who were able to retrieve information stored on the computer, which stated it was the solenoid pressure valve the light was still not on at this point. Then the sudden surge forward is unexpected and may put you in a place you did not now after the delay want to be; especially if merging into traffic.
From the posts I have found online in this forum and others, I am not alone or happy. I can't count how many times I've order parts for my customers go to the store to pick them up and they say they can't find them and pretty much tell me they can't help me that I should go check another store as if fuel, time, and running a business is free! Less than 5000 miles ago, the dealership told me that I needed a new transmission, and I took it to a private body shop, they flushed the tranny fluid, and it seemed to drive fine for the next 5000 miles. The car had only 70,000 miles on it, and there is no reason why the transmission should have failed. I took it to 2 other auto repair places who were able to retrieve information stored on the computer, which stated it was the solenoid pressure valve the light was still not on at this point. After about 20 minutes driving I get the lagging issue where I step on the gas pedal after a complete stop and nothing happens, then all of sudden after 5 seconds the car accelerates dangerously! The vehicle has not been repaired. Almost got in a accident.
I would be in the passing lane attempting to pass a slow moving vehicle and I would lose power to the point I would have to decelerate and back off and get back in behind the slow moving vehicle. I brought my vehicle into the Nissan dealerships in fort myers Florida and clearwater Florida but they were never able to diagnose my problem. They also could not guarantee the new transmission would happen to go out again after a certain amount of miles. This happened twice last year around 100K miles , and has happened 4 times in the last month 116K miles. We need help from you with this problem. It runs fine on the highway but when you transition to city driving at each stop it will loose power and the car will barely coast through the intersection, then it will catch and accelerate very quickly. I have put several of these radiator to the same purpose and they have all survived well.
Many others are having the same issue. The quality of the interior materials is poor! When the car is stopped and you begin to accelerate the car has a 3-5 sec stall and then leaps forward. Bottom Line recommended The product worked good for a customers 2005 ford freestyle and you can't beat the online discounts compared to any other parts store. A man stopped and came over to assist me and he said his mother had the same car and it did the same thing sometimes. I bought my Murano new in 2003. I am extremely disappointed with Nissan they do not care about the safety of there customers they know of this problem and don't do anything about it I guess several thousand people have to die before they really care. Bottom Line Very satisfied with the purchase, product was cheaper here than anywhere else I checked.
