We are looking at having to pay over 5 thousand dollars to fix everything. They said the vehicle had a blown head gasket. They said reports have to be filed with them before recalls can be issued. We've replaced hoses, thermostats, fuses, sensors, and body control module to name a few. I'm still waiting on that response!! Fluid was leaking from the rear of the vehicle and it was towed to a repair shop. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp.
I have a 2002 Buick Rendezvous. After a few minutes, the vehicle began to overheat. I decided to research online and am astounded by the amount of consumers that are having this same issue. If this has happened, you will note a chocolate milk type color and texture. The second the hot air gets the slightest bit warmer, I noticed the temperature goes back down some, but comes right back up quickly.
It took me an hour to find it in 105 degree weather. Asked what head gasket they used. Same deal as everybody else overheating after driving 3miles. At this point, I am honestly at a loss. Buick has been contact to assist but has said mileage is too high for any coverage; appears to be an issue with increased claims of head gasket repair after about a year and a half in service; the May 2002 build month has very high occurrence of this replacement my vehicle was build in this period. You will only know if heads are warped or cracked once removed. I used a small mirrow to get a view of the back bolts on the alternator and removed them.
The cooling problem continued, and the check engine light stayed on, so I made an appt at my shop. Remove the thermostat housing and gasket. Don't have the money for repairs. Broken Fan Belt There are still lots of engines out there which have a fan belt to drive the engine cooling fan. Maybe this is something we need to make Buick aware of and responsible for. If we see any obvious fluid loss in the engine compartment or on the ground , we should also have the system tested. At this point, car is dead.
Wipers didn't work in the rain. I added another relay so I can turn the right fan on high speed myself, instead of running a switch inside I ran the trigger wire for the relay to the fog light relay power, so when I when I'm in town and the temp gauge approaches the halfway mark I just hit the fog lamp switch I think around 210f using a temp gun , fan comes on and it hasn't been over half since when driving around slow in town on a 90+f day. Get it running right, and get rid of it. The second failure occurred on November 3, 2008. I had the upper intake manifold replaced in 2012.
Water Pump not working properly. I will never buy a Buick again and steer everybody away from them. I immediately pulled over and turned off the engine to check the manual. The same thing happened on my mother's 1997 Chevrolet malibu. Would like to know if there is anything that can be done about this, as I am sure a lot of other people would like to know. Just had to suffer through the heat all these years.
Intake manifold gasket - cost one thousand dollars. These are expensive repairs and there seem to be many of the same complaints on this vehicle. I simply can't afford to buy a used car let alone a new one and my won't hear of selling the house. I asked about the expiration date, she told me it had passed. Use the bleeder valve on the top of the intake tube, you cant miss it.
Purged air at both bleeders. After researching found out it is a common problem that Buick is aware of yet no recall. The vehicle was not yet repaired. However the Coolant Red Light went off on yesterday, brought some coolant, and the same thing happened this morning. Overheating is an issue that should never be ignored and should be addressed promptly.
I've ran this vehicle normally. What I did, never said a word about continuous over heating issues. If you don't hav all this maybe you hav a bad alternator and it wont charge ur battery maybe u need a new alternator. Sounds like a classic fuel injector problem. The cooling fan is required by the air conditioning compressor to operate at idle when the compressor is on. Possible causes: —Engine coolant level may be too low.
