It's more reliable at 18 years old than many cars just a few years old. Other than usual maintenance I have not put a dime into it, awesome truck and very dependable, still going strong! Overall these are very reliable vehicles and I would buy a Nissan for its reliability. It was great for driving around the city, a super smooth ride, comfortable and roomy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's too little, too late. When driving 10 mph and over, the vehicle would become extremely difficult to maneuver. I had a Ford pickup with a 302 V8 that got 10 mpg. There was no response for two months, until the consumer received a second recall notice.

Utterly dependable and I have no complaints with gas mileage as I get up to 20 mpg on the highway and 17 to 18 in town which I guess I am just used to due to never owning a newer small vehicle. I do not know how the newer larger and uglier Pathfinders compare, but this 2000 and previously owned 1991 model have been the most reliable and durable vehicles I have owned.

A mechanic at a body shop stated that the strut tower was rusted and cracked and could not be repaired. Hope to get another 100K on this. It became more and more difficult to steer the vehicle and keep it going straight.
