Does it have to be hit really hard for it to come off its position? My guess would be either the first gen rx300 or the most recent gen rx350 because they have the most ground clearance. This might include replacing the voltage regulator if it is separate from the alternator. I purchased this product for my 99 lexus rx300 and am very pleased with the results. I would certainly not only recommend the part but also the website and suppliers for their fantastic products and services. The other I have no idea how to remove.

I took it for a test drive on the highway, once I merged into traffic and had the car going about 35mpg it shifted very smoothly. Do I push or pull or pry it off? The pulley was apparently broken during shipping. The rebuilts in my experience are too much of a crapshoot.
Not sure how they all compare with locking diffs, gearing, wheel articulation, low end torque, etc since I only own the first gen. Its just went it idles that it drops out of gear and then has the delayed engagement. It seems like there's something holding it, but all the bolts are out. I guess that the connector covers the electrical wire to the battery. Or might be problem with other parts of the Vehicle.

I removed all 3 bols pivot bolt + 2 long bolts and the alternator is moving up and down but it doesn't come out. When you reinstall, wipe a trace of grease on the 2 end contact surfaces of the pivot. It is a '99 if that matters. This happens spontaneously and to different degrees but seems to settle down after half an hour or so. Or am I looking at multiple issues here? Also there would seem to be a short in the master switch as tapping my knee along side the door will make this occur as I drive also My question: Could this all be attributed to the same cause? If you push too hard on the accelerator the car will jerk hard and then engage. Now I am debating how I am going to reach the other 2 bolts I beed to remove. I have many other stories but you get the idea why I don't care for rebuilts.
