But on this lovely day, it was so nice outside I wanted to enjoy it. Over time, this sound became so common that it was at one point abnormal not to hear it. The yellow arrows indicate the long 10mm bolts that hold the pack to the transmission. It's not that easy to do any real damage in here. I'm still trying to get mine out, so if anyone figures out how to do that, I'd like to know. The cover has to come off, as you see above. Let's face it, people don't normally drive vans because they like them, they drive them because they have young children.
There was plenty of room under the hoses to get in the socket. The solenoid pack is downstream from the pump and filter. It had to be a low fluid pressure situation. Probably had something to do with torquing it down, unless he did happen to use a torque wrench. I believe sheldon only removed the sensor and worked around the cooler lines per his Post and pictures. But no engine light this time.
The four little valve pieces like the one pictured above are identical - they interchange. My mechanic cant figure out what is going on with the different codes that came up. Anyone else have this problem? Now, we get even further into the pack. This may be very helpful if this is the first time you have done a job like this. It is located in the back of the motor directly below and behind where the air intake boot attaches to the aluminum intake.
Hoses and sensor are not connected to the solenoid pack but are in the way of removing the pack. I think the relay you are referring to is at the top middle firewall. Guys, I just wanted to say thank you. Until now my tranny is doing the same exact thing it did about a year ago. Was that my solenoid pack? Because mine does the same thing but only after the speedo stopped workingSounds like you have a bad speed sensor which is located on the transmission top and is fairly easy to change on my 96 Plymouth Voyager. Then I pulled out the output speed sensor and cleaned that, too.
Eventually I had to replace the relay… A solenoid pack is generally called a coil pack it is the place where all the plug wires plug in, it should be very visible to see on a dodge front wheel drive it should be on the drivers side near the front of the engine depending on model.
