I spent outside of warranty hundreds of dollars on the fuel system. He pulled off the road and called the fire department. The contact noticed white smoke coming from the tail pipe and the engine. I just cannot remember the dates the items I checked occured. The fire department disconnected the battery to turn off all the electrical components so that the fire would not spread.
This left us stranded 3 times! The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban 1500. The failure mileage was 142,000. . The adjustments made to parking brake did not repair the vehicle. So far, we have been stuck on the road, lost vacation time and just can't feel safe anymore.
Smoke was also detected under the dashboard and wires began to burn. I checked the warranty work that was done on my Suburban and it was over a page of claims. Additionally, the check engine light came on intermittently. I purchased the Suburban because it was safe to carry my wife and 7 kids. The dealership looked at the front end of the vehicle and stated there was nothing wrong. Thanks for letting me vent. Most recently the two above.
The vehicle was towed to a Chevrolet dealer and is currently being repaired. While driving 30 mph, all of the instrument panel warning lights began to flash and the windshield wipers activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, where adjustments were made to the parking brake. The fuel pump problem was long in the coming, they just didn't know what the problem was. Now I don't have brakes.
