The shift pressure affects the shift quality too high a pressure will result in rough shifting; too low a pressure will cause the clutches to overheat and shift speed. Gm needs to step up to the plate. However It wont be a direct fit to a 2000 blazer only 1995-1997 Blazer only. I removed the suspect security system and repaired the damaged wiring which resulted in the improper installation. Found out the transmission had gone for reverse, second and third gears. Problem diagnosed by an independent garage and corroborated by transmission repair center as transmission failure. Buying a used 2000 Chevrolet Blazer transmission from a non-reliable dealer is an unnecessary risk. It only has 70,000 miles on it.
Newer automatic transmission designs often use many pressure control solenoids, and sometimes allow the shift solenoids themselves to provide precise pressure control during shifts by romping the solenoid on and off. The mechanic says that they will have to repair my back differential. I have not tried to push it backward out of the parking place to see if it has 1 gear only or not. Passenger seat rattles and squeaks. I have had this vehicle for just under 7months. If it does have them then the rad needs to be replaced or at lleast flushed with the prestone type cleaner.
