The lug nut was loose and it was kept turning. Vehicle crashed in the side of road, and did some damage to vehicle. Contacted dealer, and the dealer said that they could not do anything for him. While driving at 25 mph the front wheel came off the vehicle. The road conditions were clear. The vehicle struck a delineater post then a embankment on the North side of the road. The truck is a 1998 Ford F150 truck.
But if they contacted me for the recall I would not have this kind of problem. And that is why I was turning the nut on the bolt until the point when it snapped. The tire was ready to fall off. Dealership is aware of problem. I do most my truck's maintenance at home. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. However, the manufacturer and the dealer stated this vehicle was not included as part of the recall.
The consumer took the truck to the dealer to see if there were any recalls on the truck. The truck was going to be repaired. As I was rotating my tires last night, one of front left-hand side wheel bolt snapped as I was turning a nut on it. The reason why the Ford company recalled the lug nut is that the lug nuts came loose for my truck and that is exactly problem I was having. The spare wheel that was used during replacing flat tire came off due to defective coating that the vehicle manufacturer had recalled for coating breakdown and causing the lug nuts to come loose and spin off.
And the dealership said that they are not responsible for the broken bolt. Consumer states right rear tire studs broke off while driving, causing tire to fall off, this has happened on two occasions. Right rear lugs: Nuts: Bolts not came off, leaving tire wobbling. So I decided to go to the Ford website and I found out that there was a recall for my truck on the wheel nuts. So I called the puente hills Ford dealership if I take my truck to the dealership so they can repair broken wheel bolt due to already recalled nut. The manufacturer has been called, and a complaint filed with the company. .
I drove Ford all my life and I think the dealership is trying to avoid their responsibility. The speed was 35 mph. However I did not get any information until after the tire rotation. About 50 miles later, tire came completly off vehicle. The current mileage was 68,000. This is my second Ford and I never had this kind of problem before. I was very disappointed at the fact that the bolt easily broke while using little force by hands.
