I recall you working with this a long time ago Mike. Robust design and high grade materials meet the stringent demands of today's service professional. The front axle actuator you can remove from the front axle and plug it back in and see if it extands when you put it in 4x4 and if it contract as put it in 4x2. Please help we have a big storm on the way Thank you all so much Steve Pull the Accuator out tape 2 lug nuts to the end of the plunger and screw it back in.
Yes The new style has four pins i think! Our switches are manufactured under a completely quality control process from componentry to finished products by experienced professional. I recently bought a 1995 Chevy half-ton 4x4 to get me through the unpredictable weather and back roads of Nebraska. I assume it is the actuator, if the plug to the actuator is getting 12 volts when in 4wd. They're a little more effort to work with but not overly complicated. Some would take several minutes to warm up enough to engage the axle. The newer style with the electric driven motors are much faster. Mine would jump from 2wd to 4wd on its own. I did this to my 92 1500 many years ago and just last night I did it to my friend 94 1500. I started reading and learned the actuator is a common problem.
I don't want to experiment and fry the thing! On the diff side the plug has 5 wires coming out of it but doesn't have long enough wires to splice into as they were cut by that previous garage I mentioned and the other wires look kinda screwed up as well. I would take it back to whoever did the work on the transmission. Just a better design or are the front diffs different yielding the change in actuators? The T-Case operates off of the stock switch Yes I was referring to the switch on the T-case that sends the command forward to operate the axle actuator. This spring I swapped out the front differential with one out of a 1992 blazer. The old thermal design used to wear out quickly and was replaced with a new electric one you need the actuator and an additional harness. Yes it controls all 4wd functions.

Very satisfied with the prices , shipping and all my orders have arrived on time! Ideal for: Fleet operators Emergency vehicles Installation is easy and can be completed in approximately 10 minutes. Same if it is electrical, something that didn't get reconnected after the clutch fix. I called the shop that did the clutch and they're not sure, but asked me to bring it in. As for the spacer, I think I pushed that into the opening in the housing before I threaded the new actuator in, but I can't remember for sure.
Even if it was a little more I would have bought it because the video was so helpful. Need to go over the old harness first to see what needs addressed or repaired before even thinking of making any changes. The new style would be ideal though. Well I found this thread a little late to help some of you, but if possible replace the thermal actuator with the motored one. All Replacement brand items are backed by 1-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
Robust design and high grade materials meet the stringent demands of today's service professional. Well be happy to see if we carry the parts needed for the repair. What's the best course of action?? Nice for backing trailers up hills. Is there an actuator out there that is of better quality and will last longer or would I just be better off going and getting the 4X4 Posi-Lok? Just put a little sealer on the new actuators threads. My question now, is there a way to make what I have work for me? Thanks, Phil dgilfillen, Thanks for your help. Thanks, Phil Phil, No problem. Valid on orders shipped in the contiguous United States.
When it heats, the pin in the end swells and pushes a shift fork in the front differential. I changed the front diff actuator but it did not solve the problem. Decades of industry leading research and development focused on meeting the technician's needs. Once installed, the front axles will not pull until the transfer case is engaged. Does anyone have a diagram of what each pin does? To do more test you may need a test light and a digital multi meter.
