I traced the wires from the fuel pump and they go directly to the fuse box. He just told me that there was spark. I start it again and it stays running with no problems. However, once I get the engine warmed up a bit I can drive around just fine except that the needle in the tach tends to jump around a lot but after 15 minute of driving it calms down and all is well until I park my civic and try to start it again after it cools down. Someone please help me and tell me you have a solution! It did not want to accelerate.
When I took out the spark plugs and someone cranked the engine, air did blow out of the spark plug holes. I need to know the correct way in which the wires should go from the fuse box, to the fuel pump relay and to the fuel pump, correctly. I came out the next morning and started her up and in 1 minute it sputtered and died, wouldn't start back up or even try to. Replacing these things did not help. If so, why did it not do it the first times? In case the originator gets back here I hope he can let us know the results. Should I still go ahead and replace the spark plug wires? We think both of them are. The car struggled to keep running.
It does spin when we crank the engine. So, my friend towed me to the shop. Still, they smelled a bit like fuel. I played with the spark plug wires to no avail usually that works , so I let it sit for another minute. Any update on this thread or additional advice would be greatly appreciated. You are correct about the system working so I believe you have got the system and wiring correct. A 12-pack later I eventually removed it and took it indoors to inspect it under my laboratory lamps. Other issues are worn out coil, faulty distributor part. So, it has new spark plugs and spark plug wires. He could not tell if the aux. I think that I am getting closer to fixing this problem but I just need a little expert advice to make sure that I am on the right track and get this fixed and reliable again.

An unfortunate circumstance in my honest opinion! Well, we were pretty sure that the timing belt was still good. The plugs, distributor and fuel filter were all replaced about 6 months ago. We know at least one fuel injector is working. I may ask some more questions on this forum as to how to fix some of this stuff. There's something different about the new pump. I have a '91 hatchback and read somewhere they put an access cover in the later models so you don't have to drop tank to access fuel pump for maintenance.
Thanks, 1991 honda civic Try Autozone or Advanced Auto if you want stock replacement rotors and pads. However, the 2nd and subsequent attempts, the car seemed to not want to start at all. One day, when we cranked the engine, no lights were flashing. I originally thought a problem with the injectors, but no I'm baffled. I'll probably be back for more help later.
They both appear to be in good shape and attached well. So, anyway, a long time of troubleshooting and this is what the problem was. If your getting a code, it would be soooo much more helpful then us guessing for what to check next. As of Thursday, my car will start but then immediately dies.
