It's super reliable and really fun to drive. Yes Review Date: 24th August, 2016 Faults: Not much. General Comments: This truck is a little monster. Yes Review Date: 6th February, 2011 Faults: Replaced complete exhaust from engine-back. The truck started right up and still went into gear and moved.
Great off road truck if not lifted. One minor ding from a tree falling on it, never wrecked. General Comments: 73k original miles. Could not tell I was getting low on gas until the light came on. This little truck has never let me down. Wrapped the truck around a telephone pole 2 weeks ago on Monday and flipped it. Replaced front brake pads and rear brake shoes.
Had to give it a tune up after powerwashing the engine. A posi trac unit does help though. A little rust above the gas door. General Comments: The truck ran great. I even ran over 4 wild hogs at the same time standing in the middle of the road.
Yes Review Date: 3rd June, 2014 Faults: The throttle body acquired a vacuum leak where the 2 piece throttle body seals together. New thermostat and cooling for preventive reasons. Center drag link wore out. . This little Nissan has got more balls than any newer V-8 truck. The negative is that it is geared really low, limiting your cruising speeds at highways at around 55-60 mph. Model year 1989 Year of manufacture 1989 First year of ownership 2013 Most recent year of ownership 2014 Engine and transmission 2.
Moisture got in the ignition wires. Other than that, all I've done is general maintenance. I work at a muffler shop. I have even pulled a scissor lift with locked up brakes. I definitely recommend this truck to anyone who is looking for an all out true heavy duty small work truck, and does not care about comfort or looks. Other than that they run forever with little maintenance. Ripped the driver side motor mount in half.
General Comments: Best truck I ever owned that wasn't diesel. I have pulled V-8 Fords and diesels out of the ditch and pushed a short bus onto the ramp in the shop. Never driven more than 100 miles at a time, and it's never seen snow or salt. Yes Review Date: 2nd February, 2010. Crawled in it that Friday after the wreck. Just throw some meaty tires on it and go. I swear the truck came up on two wheels it hit so hard.
I pulled over on the side of the road to check out the damage that I was sure was going to be horrendous, but to my surprise no damage. Honest, I have done it. The biggest thing with these trucks is rust. Anything faster kills gas mileage. Model year 1989 Year of manufacture 1989 First year of ownership 2006 Most recent year of ownership 2010 Engine and transmission 2. Pushed the front right tire into the fender well.
Yes Review Date: 18th March, 2016 Faults: Needed tires, instrument cluster and fuel pump sending unit. Faults: Had to replace the fuel pump, and put on a new set of tires. Also the short cab doesn't have much room, which means no long trips. Put new tires on it. Only thing I could say is buy the 1990 model, ya get tuned port injection. Model year 1989 Year of manufacture 1988 First year of ownership 1995 Most recent year of ownership 2001 Engine and transmission 3. .
