The paint has nice, even coloring and sits under a strong clearcoat that provides a deep shine, and the pinstripes separating the colors still show sharp edges. Mileage is unknown as the odometer has only 5 digits and I am sure it's rolled over. The little 305 and the 700R4 have held up fairly well and I have had plenty of power there when I needed it. The stance strikes a nice balance - it's just a little lower than stock but leaves plenty of tire clearance for driving in everyday conditions with no problem. Go read that last sentence again.
A new battery, fuel tank, tank straps, and fuel pump were installed over the Summer and the Maxxis 32x12. There were some other less common trim packages which overlapped those noted above. The paint and bodywork were restored about eight years ago, and it still looks awesome. The guy who is selling me the truck may have meant 4-speed including overdrive, but I'm not sure. It's come through the years in strong fashion, re-energized with fresh paint along the way and it still features its original drivetrain, anchored by a strong running V8 under the hood.
There's a clean comfortable interior waiting inside the doors. Your post, 10 years later, is proof of that. But I knew immediately that my resale value was hacked. The interior is in overall good condition with no tears or signs of excessive wear in the seat or carpet. K10 and K20 models came with aluminum, chain-driven cases that had lower ratios but lacked the durability of the cast-iron, gear-driven case found in the K30 model.
As I said I'm usually more of a Ford fan, so I'm a bit slow when it comes to figuring out which transmission is which. Both versions had a front track width of 65. Everything is in good order beneath the hood. Once you bid on the truck you are agreeing to buy the truck, not come kick the tires and then decide. Feel free to contact me. Thank you and happy bidding! A lot of guys grew up around trucks just like this and fondly remember the days of square bodywork and traditional V8 horsepower, making good ones highly-sought collectors' items today. Thanks to all who reply in advance.
There's a rubber bed mat and what might be original paint underneath, showing that this truck never really worked very hard but doesn't mind putting in a long day now and then. The dash pad is cracked which is pretty typical for a truck this age. The paint has nice, even coloring and sits under a strong clearcoat that provides a deep shine, and the pinstripes separating the colors still show sharp edges. This gorgeous blue pickup is no exception. Still it has held up and always been there when I needed it. The largely original interior offers handsome and plush blue upholstery to tie in perfectly with the exterior, and it's all in very good condition, especially considering its age.
The light blue bench seat at its center shows very little wear, and still has plenty of padding under its cloth cover. A set of heavy-duty floor mats protect the plush blue carpets unusual for a pickup and there's an aftermarket cup holder in the dash that's a sorely needed upgrade for those of us who actually drive our toys. Two-tone color schemes have always been a popular choice on trucks of this vintage and for good reason - they provide a fresh look while staying very much in keeping with their original identity. The light blue and silver combo now draped over the exterior is a great match for this Chevy. The original 305 cubic inch V8 sits in a well-maintained compartment, surrounded by a clean firewall and inner fenders and its running strong, sending a deep throaty note out to the dual exhaust. The rockers, doors, floor pans, cab corners, body mounts, bed, etc. Theres a clean comfortable interior waiting inside the doors.
The rear quarters, just above the wheels, is the only place I could find through rust. Inside, you will find a black rubber floor mat no carpeting , and a basic vinyl upholstery occasionally custom or deluxe cloth was found as an extra cost option from '82 onward. The work here has been performed well. You'll find no evidence of damage from shifting cargo inside the walls - in fact, there's not so much as a major scratch visible, and the liftgate raises and lowers with no issues at all. There was one thing I remember about this design that might matter to you. A dual exhaust system gives it a nice rumble and upgraded shocks were part of the 2. Lee I owned a 86 with dual side-saddle tanks. K20 trucks had axle ratios available from 3. Witness the smaller tanks, and the unavailability of the dual tank option. I think power output is at 160 hp or close to that number. The paint has nice, even coloring and sits under a strong clearcoat that provides a deep shine, and the pinstripes separating the colors still show sharp edges.
Never once have i had a concern about driving this truck or getting hit on the side by someone and worried about a fire bein caused. This one has led a good life, too, with straight sheetmetal, good gaps, and a shine that's probably better than 1984 paint could muster. The light blue and silver combo now draped over the exterior is a great match for this Chevy. It's unlikely that anything bad will happen.
