Big block power, nice paint, and a sporting bucket. Transmission works as it should with no abnormalities. It's tight and solid for a gm truck of the 73-87 era. The box is very nice inside and out. Passenger cab corner has a very small spot to patch. These pickups were rated as half-ton vehicles, but the S10 body was definitely smaller than the C10 or K10.
As I said above, all of these specs came from a factory service manual, get one and you will not be disappointed! It is a great candidate for restoration. The interior is custom with bucket seats with a 70's style factory console. Runs and drives, smokes a little when you first start it. A few chrome engine compartment accents were also added. I would personally just put a 4barrel setup on it and new tires and it should be ready for everyday use. Salt is not an issue in this part of the country and the truck looks to have never been in a salt area.
It doesn't want to idle if not partially choked. This is not a frame off restoration show truck but definitely not a rusty and rotted rattle trap. Passenger cab corner needs replaced. This is a blank slate and a roller as they say. The bed wood was replaced with composite decking to withstand the Florida sun with the color to contrast the interior color theme.
All the chrome and stainless is all in nice shape with the exception of one lower grille molding which I have a clean replacement. Numerous six and eight cylinder engines were available for 1980 C10 pickups. These short bed Chevy pickups are really shooting up in value so don't miss out on a nice truck. The truck drove nice with the new smaller tires that were on it. Aluminum intake with Edlebrock carb. All the gauges work with the exception of the clock. I naturally would like to get as much as possible but I am going to be realistic and negotiable.
The steering wheel is a custom billet wheel with a bow tie horn button and the tilt steering column is tight. This truck can be driven as is or make it into something real nice. No rust in the box or rear fenders. Those are the ones in the pics and those come with it. It has headers, dual exhaust, 4 bbl, aluminum intake, all steel cowl hood, Rally wheels,etc. I've had many and they sometimes have been rode hard and have all the rattles etc to show for it. The inside cab floor and inner bed sides have been sprayed with protective bedliner material. Both front fenders need replaced or patched. Would be good for parts, rebuild, or drop a motor in her and start plowing. Although this is not a frame off show truck it is a clean solid driver that turns heads with all possibilities for a custom build into something show quality. My reserve is in my opinion set fair and reasonable in consideration to comparable trucks that I have seen sell.
Pins can be inserted, and then measurements can be taken from these pins to verify that a frame is not bent or twisted. Any questions or want any specific pictures let me know. The Luv truck was sold under the Chevrolet name throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. I can tell it wasn't worked hard or mud bogged. Frame dimensions are helpful, and a necessity when considering possible custom body swaps. There is no warranty whatsoever. Exhaust is dual, and sounds nice. Rust in the low corners primarily.
This truck is going on 35 years old but very solid, clean, yet rugged and reliable. Dual exhaust off factory manifolds. Cab and fenders have afew dents and dings butlittle rust and in good shape. Rear sliding window and all the glass is in nice condition. This vintage chevy is sold as-is. Doors, hood and tailgate open as they should. The interior is in fair condition. There is no engine or transmission, but it had a 454 that was bad and has been removed. This was a gopher type pickup to run errands and small jobs. Dash and gauge panel have not been cut for a stereo, which is good. I see no indication the truck has ever been in an accident of any concern. Awesome driver or bring it to shows.
