This Blog is designed to showcase my 1967 Chevrolet Pickup which was a C20 long bed. So with it I did some work on a support on the cab on my drivers side. Over all Its a nice truck. Aside from the two doors cut for the sunken compartments, a third door was also cut above the rear differential to allow access to the adjustable shock reservoirs and surrounding suspension components. I think it turned out great. I am really excited about it.
I just need to find a title for it. There are scratches blemishes throughout paint. The cab looks pretty solid too. Need to find a 4l80e trans for it. It is going to be a RestoMod, or Muscle Truck.
You know I have always thought I was really healthy but I guess not. The trim is all in nice shape and the bumpers are both in good condition. So I got a new welder a few weeks ago, and it is great. The 1967 Chevy C10 oozes class, and thanks to its wide flatbed, you can also haul pretty much anything you might need.
The cab looks pretty solid too. Just don't want to take the chance. Yes I know it has been a while since the last post. The needs new weatherstripping around the doors and the windows. Next came the scary part. Glass rolls up and down without any trouble. I do have an original for the drivers side but I wanted a set. Payments will be made by wire transfer to my account. Weighing in at half a ton, the 1967 Chevy C10 can cope with almost any load, too. To extend the lower portion of the tubs, the bottom flange was cut off, then a cardboard template was made of the tub below the factory body line.
I am doing this because I want to be able to enjoy the truck for years to come and I have had enough medical problems. These shortbeds are getting harder to find in good rust free condition. Once the floor area was measured, a 4x8-foot length of 18-gauge sheetmetal was cut in half using this pneumatic shear. They are repro's so they are a little flimsy. This what I welded up but I haven't welded it in yet. It was hard work and it still needs a little more attention. So just last weekend I finally decided to do something about that brand new bumper that I had bought and painted black for my old truck that is no longer around. This is a factory 2wd short bed, getting very hard to find hence all the companies sprouting up converting long to short beds in the 3-4k range, seen good and bad on those, why take a chance, get a factory original at a great price. Disc Breaks in front The motor was installed March 2017, 500 miles was put on the motor before paint shop.
Things have been really busy lately, I haven't had time to get much done. Found a new house and it all worked out so I have a few pics of Nacho the trucks name from just before we moved and a few from after moving and getting to work on welding the bed up. Most all the weather stripping and rubber was replaced. So if i'm not going to get it going soon then I am going to keep going on something that I can do. This truck runs and drives.
