The replaced the fdm in my car in 2004 because my car was experiencing all the symptoms of the advisory. Pull the fuel delivery module assembly flange up and out of the fuel tank until the locking tabs on the module are accessible. Fuel tank must be removed to repair. Please look into this matter. I called the ford dealership for mine after I had read that there was, gave them the vin number, and they said the only thing on it was an improved warrenty on the front struts and a recall on the rear door latch. I spoke to a customer service rep at Ford and although he was very understanding, the fact is the advisory was not a recall and they took care of the fdm.
A spark or lit cigarette butt would have been disastrous. I restarted the engine and carried on a few more yards when the engine stalled again. The service record at bill brown Ford will note a long history of fuel system problems, including the issue noted above gas on the street. This car is a death trap!!!! If there is not an access panel in the floor, over top of the tank, you will need to drop the tank. Also make a drawing or have a schematic of the way the serpentine belt fits around all the pulleys.
This car as well as the other Ford I own has given me just one too many headaches. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic and he discovered that the fuel pump failed. I knew to pop it in neutral and try to restart it. If the regulator has failed completely, the vehicle will crank, but not start at all. These fuel filters are less costly and work just as well, if not better than a stock fuel filter.
I went to auto zone for free computer analysis, which said oxygen sensor needed replaced. At other times the car dies at idle. All vehicles, from your vehicle to a hot rod, work van or family car, have different engine setups and part sizes. You also need a belt tensioner tool to get the belt off first. Fuel leaked out the fuel tank. I restarted the engine and carried on a few more yards when the engine stalled again. I am taking the car in on November 18, 2003 to get repaired.
I did make it home without an accident. The vehicle restarted after being parked for a while. The filter once again became contaminated and the fuel pump once again needs to be replaced. Cheers Stef Yea its a petrol 1. I am not sure what else can be done at this point because, this first recurrence happened while trying to merge onto 60+ mph traffic and my care refused to accelerate beyond 30 mph.
If your fuel pump is wearing out, shuddering and jolting often precede acceleration. I am taking the car in on November 18, 2003 to get repaired. I encountered my first incident just recently, about a week ago. Even if it had been the recal was only for 10 years so that was up also. Auction specifically for commute to and from work along with saving on fuel costs.
My car does the same thing. Other than these issues it isn't a bad little car. I did some research on the internet and found that I am not the only Focus owner with this problem. I began losing speed and had to coast down to the bottom of the grade, where there was parking accessibility. Cost to replace fuel pump and labor cost of dropping exhaust system and protective metal shield to gain access to fuel tank.
In an overly rich scenario, there is not enough air for the mixture to achieve combustion; if there is too little air, the combustion will also fail to occur. Since most fuel injectors have parts that operate on very tight tolerances, even the finest particles such as grit and dirt create clogs. To be clear, the car has not totally stalled due to this problem. Car was running fine before fuel pump failure. I will note, that Ford was very helpful in replacing the ignition assembly-three times. I contacted the local Ford dealership on November 11, 2003.
